Don't mess with my Neti! I guess you could stick it in other places! I once had an eyelash hair stuck in my eyeduct. When I went to the eye doctor he climed I was a "medical marvel" because the width of an eye lash should be too wide for the almost microscopic width of the tear duct....he removed the lash with some tweasers and refused to charge me!
But you shold have claen ducts other wise you could get this.......
Dacryocystitis; an infection of the tear sac that may result from a blocked duct. Because the tears do not drain normally, bacteria can collect in the ducts or the tear sac. Dacryocystitis can develop into a chronic condition and can spread to adjacent sinuses and into the bloodstream, if the infection is not treated effectively
yipes! keep the neti away from the tear duct. or keep it near. a medical miracle?? i guess i'll have to go to wikipedia to see where that all important duct is.
when i was a kid my doctor had me use one of those squishy blue syringes to shoot hot salt water up my nose when i had really bad colds. i remember it worked pretty well. keep us updated on the neti. maybe all a&s contributors should get them so we can have weekly or even daily neti reports.
can you use it only on your nose?
ReplyDeletewhat an ingenious invention! now i can cleanse my bowels and sinus cavities at the same time!! if only there was something for my tearducts...

ReplyDeleteCould you send angry sloppers info on how to procure a neti?
